Choosing a “Word of the Year” is more than a fun tradition. It is a powerful tool for focus and growth at Curtis Creek Senior Living. A single word can shape decisions, inspire action, and unite teams around a shared purpose. By reflecting on the word selected for the year, insight is gained into how it influenced culture, strengthened connections, and supported meaningful experiences for residents and team members. This end of year review also allows time to celebrate successes, learn from challenges, and prepare for continued progress in the year ahead.
Our community’s Word of the Year was Perseverance, and it truly defined our journey throughout 2025. Even during less-than-ideal circumstances, the team worked tirelessly to maintain a positive working and living environment. This marked our first full year under Arrow management, which brought significant transitions for both staff and residents. At the same time, a large-scale renovation of common areas and apartments took place in preparation for the Grand Reopening Celebration.

Focusing on Perseverance led to several positive outcomes. Team members consistently went the extra mile by coming in early, staying late, and stepping up whenever support was needed. Their dedication and resilience played a vital role in keeping the community moving forward during a year filled with change.
The most important lesson carried forward from this year is simple but powerful: never give up and keep showing up. This mindset reflects the heart of Perseverance and reinforces the strength, determination, and commitment that define Curtis Creek Senior Living.
Looking back on the impact of our Word of the Year, it is clear that one simple concept can spark meaningful change. Perseverance guided priorities, strengthened community, and reinforced the values that matter most. By reviewing the actions and outcomes tied to this word, accomplishments can be celebrated while identifying opportunities for continued growth. These lessons will move forward into the year ahead, because one word truly can make a difference when it is lived every day.
